Pay: $16.25-$17.25 per hour, depending on experience

Location: Hampden Park Co-op, St. Paul, MN
Hampden Park Co-op is looking for a friendly, dependable, and community-minded person to join our team as a full-time Cashier.
Our cashiers help create a welcoming experience for everyone who shops at the co-op. This position includes operating the register, processing payments accurately, answering customer questions, and keeping the front-end area clean, organized, and well-stocked.
The Cashier will also assist with stocking, cleaning, bagging groceries, and other store tasks as needed. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, communicates clearly, and is willing to support coworkers during both busy and slower periods.

Cashier Job Description:
❋ Responsibilities Provide friendly, helpful, and respectful service to customers and coworkers.
Operate the point-of-sale system and accurately process cash, credit, debit, gift card, and other transactions.
Follow proper cash-handling procedures and maintain an accurate cash drawer.
Answer customer questions and help address concerns in a calm and respectful manner.
Bag groceries carefully and assist customers when needed.
Keep the registers and front-end area clean, organized, and stocked.
Communicate register issues, customer concerns, and other important information to store leadership.
Assist with stocking, cleaning, organizing, and other store tasks as assigned.
Follow store policies related to customer service, safety, cash handling, and cleanliness.
Help create a welcoming and inclusive environment for customers, members, and coworkers.
❋ Required QualificationsPrevious customer service and cash-handling experience.
Friendly, respectful, and clear communication skills.
Ability to listen, solve problems, and handle customer concerns calmly.
Dependable, organized, flexible, and able to work well as part of a team.
Willingness to learn new tasks, accept feedback, and help where needed.
Ability to operate a point-of-sale system and perform basic math accurately.
❋ Preferred QualificationsPrevious cashiering, grocery, retail, co-op, or customer service experience.
Experience balancing a register or reconciling cash transactions.
Basic computer skills, including email and spreadsheets.
Familiarity with co-ops, natural foods, local foods, sustainable practices, or community-focused grocery stores.
❋ Physical RequirementsAbility to stand and move throughout the front-end and store areas for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry products, grocery bags, and supplies as required during a shift.
Occasional bending, crouching, reaching, and stretching to access low and high shelving, equipment, and products.
